The robe fit and he has worn it well.

Every ruling that has ever made, every sentence that he has ever handed down, every motion that he has either granted or denied, he did so with the highest regard for the law and with the greatest consideration for all parties.

He upheld his oath to his office, never using it for personal gain or spite.

He did favors for no one. Not for family. Not for friends. Not for former business associates or colleagues. Not for his next door neighbor and not for the CEO of world wide conglomerates.

He was prepared and he expected the same in return.

He was firm. The command he held in his courtroom was absolute and without question. On this, he did not negotiate and he did not compromise.

He was fair and he always put the law ahead of his own personal bias.

When he hangs up his robe in November it will be a great loss not only for the Southwest Georgia Judicial Circuit but for everyone affected by the American system of justice. While he never let his title define him, he remained a paradigm for judiciaries on all levels and in every jurisdiction.

The Honerable J. Kevin Chason.

You absolutely are.

Congratulations Kevin. I am proud of you beyond measure.
