One day I woke up and I was in my kid’s house. Not a playhouse but a real house. The child I gave life to (like yesterday) now has a place of her very own.

It happened. My kid is now a grownup.

Sarah, you are going to do great as a grownup. You are going to pay your bills on time. You are going to go to work. You are going to have people over for dinner. You are going to kill bugs.

Being a grownup is not always hard. But on the days that it’s not so easy, (because there are other grownups who are mean as crap) on those days, you know where to find me. I got you. We can talk some serious trash about those assholes until you feel better (because it will make you feel better).

For as long as I am breathing, you will never be alone in this lonely messed up world of grownuphood. While I am no great pillar of strength and I rarely have the answers to any damn thing, I am always here for you.

You are what this world needs.

I am proud of you.
