As I watch my dreams of becoming a cowgirl slowly dwindle with each passing day of my life, I would like to thank my mother for indulging me in my aspiration of one day herding cattle.

The cowgirl dream has never left me, it has merely changed configuration. I don't actually want to....you know...ride on the back of a horse anymore. But still, I dream of having all the power and freedom that I would get if I were galloping across the Great Divide on the back of two thousand pounds of sheer muscle and strength.

If I ever wake up from my cowgirl dream I might find that I do have the freedom and I do have the power to make all my dreams come true. I would be like Dorothy when she found out that those ruby reds had been giving her the power all along, and man oh man, I'd be clicking them suckers together like a raving lunatic. But but in the end, really, there's no place like home.
